The newly-drafted quarterback of the Las Vegas Raiders is saying that he may have to skip Indiana University's White House Visit, if it coincides with Raiders practice.
(PLGNN) - The 2025 Indiana Hoosiers Quarterback and newly-drafted Raiders Quarterback Fernando Mendoza is not planning on attending Indiana's visit to the White House.
Lead by Mendoza, the Indiana Hoosiers won their first ever College Football National Championship with a perfect 16-0 record. The Hoosiers played the University of Miami at Hard Rock Stadium in the National Championship, a game which even United States President Donald Trump was in attendance at.
Every year, it's customary for the White House to invite the winning team of the College Football National Championship to come visit, with Indiana being scheduled to come on May 11.
On Saturday, Fernando Mendoza told reporters, "I’m on the bottom of the totem pole here. I’ve got to prove myself. I can’t miss practice. I don’t have the calendar, but as a rookie, I don’t think that’s a good look. I want to try to best serve my teammates, and I don’t know if that’d be accomplishing that goal."
The Las Vegas Raiders drafted Fernando Mendoza with the number one overall pick. Mendoza also won the Heisman Award.
