Lando Norris Claims His First Formula 1 Race Win

Lando Norris has just become a Formula 1 race winner with his victory at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix.

(PLGNN) - Formula 1 McLaren driver Lando Norris has just won his first ever victory at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. This also marks the first win for McLaren since the 2021 Monza Grand Prix, which was one by then-Mclaren driver Daniel Ricciardo. Norris stood on the podium alongside Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, who finished second and third, respectively.

Norris has entered a total of 110 Formula 1 Grands Prix, and has reached the podium 16 times. The 24 year old's first podium was in 2020, and Norris narrowly missed a win at Russia 2021.

Following his race win, fellow Formula 1 drivers George Russel, Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, Daniel Ricciardo, and Ferdinand Alonso were seen hugging and congratulating Norris.

When asked about his plans for the evening, the McLaren driver responded, "I'm not going to sleep... I'm going all the way. I might have more than just a scratch on my nose tomorrow so I don't care but I'll enjoy my time- this only happens once when you're taking your first win. It's nice to do it here in Miami, I was kind of hoping it was going to be at Silverstone, but I'll try to do it there as well."

Lando Norris is currently ranked 5th in the 2024 Formula 1 Driver's Championship.
