Streamer Pokimane has recently found herself in some controversy surrounding her new healthy cookie brand.
(PLGNN) - Pokimane is the most popular female streamer on Twitch right now, and she created her own healthy snack brand named Myna Snacks. The main product of Myna Snacks is the Midnight Mini Cookie, which is made with real, non-gmo ingredients along with added Vitamin D.
Many users were quick to point out that it appears that Pokimane's cookies are just repackaged from another brand and marked up, however Pokinane has refuted this claim, stating, "there's been some confusion about the product i launched, and i'm here to set the record straight", along with attaching a screenshot of a note to her X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

Pokimane followed this up by tweeting, "myna has been a 2 year passion project to create a brand that provides the healthy and yummy snacks that we deserve. if you try the cookies & love them, i am so grateful and thank you. we are already working on new products and i can't wait to show you all. :)".

This drama escalated when Pokimane addressed the high prices of the cookies on stream, with four bags being the minimum you can purchase costing $7 all together. Pokimane said "People are like, 'Oh my god, $20 for a cookie?!' It's four bags- that's seven- seven dollars a bag. Oh I know math is hard- when you're an idiot BUT, if you're a broke boi just say so."
This has caused many people to become upset with her, saying that it's in poor taste for somebody as rich as Pokimane to be critical of poor people. Everything escalated even further when streamer Nadia tweeted "you guys have people like n3on, jack, Sneako, who avg thousands of viewers and do nothing but spread negativity and harass people in public, but when a girl sells cookies that’s when the y’all wanna speak out? the immense hatred towards women on the internet is unhinged," and then added "this is why there is a threshold on women, yea it’s easier for us to get publicity, but to reach the top is almost impossible. the standards upheld on us are so extreme. however, the men at the top can say/do anything without any repercussions."

This caused streamer xQc to speak out, sarcastically saying, "Yes Nadia, it is the hate towards women that gave the cookies their price tag. Coincidently, it’s also the hate towards women that made everyone live paycheck to paycheck and not able to afford luxury goods. There’s no valid criticism here, tell em queen".

Nadia adding the conversation of sexism into the drama upset many fans, as many believed it to be unnecessary and unrelated. One user, @ZacharyDiaz tweeted, "more streamers are talking about the economics of poki's cookies than the genocide in Palestine so the bar is pretty f*cking low for using your platform for good.", which streamer Saira retweeted and responded, "disheartening to see a lot of you care more about $7 cookies than mass genocide and humanitarian crises". xQc responded to this, tweeting, "Be quiet, seriously. Shut the f*ck up".

Pokimane took to X to once again address her actions, tweeting, "while what i said was 100% intended to be a joke, i see why it came off as insensitive and i apologize for that. i also understand the current price of the cookies may be expensive for some, and promise we’ll continue to consider pricing to keep myna as affordable as possible." She then followed up with, "i also want to clarify that this was said towards ONE rude chatter, i did not at all intend it to be a general statement or towards my community."
