Day 6: 100t wins 2-0 against FUT and Gen.G wins 2-1 against FNATIC
Day 7: G2 wins against PRX 2-1 and Heretics wins against EDG 2-0
(PLGNN) - The Valorant Champions Tour Masters Shanghai tournament has reached a new level coming into the playoffs. Scheduling from May 30 to June 9, it has brought in millions of viewers. After the Swiss Stage, Leviatán, FPX, T1, and DRG have been eliminated.
Proceeding to the first round of playoffs in Day 6, North American team 100 Thieves beats the Turkish team FUT in the upper quarter finals. This is the first time 100t has made it to a VCT masters event since Berlin 2021. But this match wasn't exciting since most fans don't have any expectations for FUT. In the second game, Gen.G beats FNATIC 2-1, showing APAC dominance over EMEA. This was a great match between FNATIC who were the winners of Masters Tokyo in 2023 and Gen.G who placed second in Masters Madrid 2024.
In Day 7, one of the most sought after matches between PRX and G2 ends with G2 winning 2-1. Most believed that PRX would take this match but G2 didn't let it happen. This was one of the most exciting matches since PRX specifically chose G2 as their upper quarter final matchup. During the second game, Heretics 2-0's EDG. This does not come to a shock knowing that China is a relatively new region so their teams aren't as good.
Coming into day 8, we will see FUT vs FNATIC and PRX vs EDG in the lower finals, or the lowers bracket. Unfortunately, only one of these teams still has a chance to win it all. Lastly on day 9, fans will be witnessing 100t vs Gen.G and G2 vs Heretics. So far both NA teams are still in the tournament showing their dominance like from Madrid where Sentinels won it all. All of these games will be live on both Twitch and YouTube with multiple languages in the official VCT account.
