United States Representative Ilhan Omar's daughter was recently suspended from Barnard College, Columbia University, for refusing to leave a Pro-Palestine encampment.
(PLGNN) - Isra Hirsi, 21, is an environmental activist and the daughter of United States Representative Ilhan Omar. On Thursday, Hirsi was suspended from Barnard College, which is an official college of Columbia University, following her refusal to leave a pro-Gaza encampment set up on one of the lawns at Columbia University.
Hirsi, who's bio on X (formerly Twitter) features a communist sickle and hammer, tweeted, "i’m an organizer with CU Apartheid Divest @ColumbiaSJP , in my 3 years at @BarnardCollege i have never been reprimanded or received any disciplinary warnings i just received notice that i am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide." In a follow-up tweet, Hirsi said, "those of us in Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated. we will stand resolute until our demands are met. our demands include divestment from companies complicit in genocide, transparency of @Columbia’s investments and FULL amnesty for all students facing repression". In the past, Hirsi has voiced support of terrorist group Hamas which invaded Israel on October 7th, 2023. Hamas killed over 1,000 Jews, the largest number killed since the Holocaust. Hamas killed and raped many children, along with massacring a music festival and allegedly put babies into ovens. Hirsi has also retweeted pro-Hamas tweets on X. Due to Isra Hirsi's links to antisemitic and pro-terrorism student associations, many people are calling for Ilhan Omar's removal from any congressional committees discussing these issues. Since the October 7th attacks, an estimated 1400 Israelis and 34,000 Palestinians have been killed in the fighting between Middle East terror groups, and the Israeli Military.
