After being indicted, many people are wondering if former President Donald Trump will run again in 2024.
(PLGNN) - Former President Donald Trump has been charged in four separate criminal cases over a less then five month span. According to Politico, Mr. Trump is facing thirty-four felony counts in relation to giving hush money to a porn star, and he also faces forty felony counts in Florida for hoarding classified documents. He faces four felony counts in Washington D.C. for attempting to overturn the 2020 election. Finally, in Georgia he faces thirteen felony counts for election interference in that particular state.
With all of those felony counts put together, many people are asking whether Mr. Trump will run again in 2024. He previously ran in 2020, however lost to current President Joe Biden. Recently, Fulton County Jail has released the former President's mugshot. Many of his associates also had their mugshots taken as well. Social media was quick to makes meme out of this, and hundreds of people across social media have changed their profile pictures to this image.
Mr. Trump has not been officially convicted of any crimes yet, which means he is technically innocent for the time being. Even if Mr. Trump gets convicted, he can still run for President. In 1920, Eugene V. Debs ran for President from behind bars, and in Lyndon LaRouche also ran for President in 1992. If he was officially convicted, he could use his Presidential position to also give himself a pardon. Mr. Trump still fully intends to run for President in the upcoming election as well and is currently leading the Republican vote. So yes, he still is able to run in the 2024 election.
